Magic Monday-March 26, 2024-Labyrinth's Latest Magic: The Gathering News

Kudos to our Regional Championship Qualifier winner, and more MTG news!

It’s just another Magic Monday!

Firstly, congratulations again to our Regional Championship Qualifier winners from yesterday, Evan Sheres and Johnny Rojas! Now that the RCQ is in the books it’s time to look ahead to Outlaws of Thunder Junction! Prerelease is April 12-14 and we’ve got a rootin’ tootin’ set of events for every cowpoke out there.

On Friday, we have our traditional draft. And Saturday and Sunday afternoon we have traditional sealed events. Saturday morning, however, we have our Sealed League-style prerelease where you build a 30 card deck out of three packs. It’s quick, casual, and a dandy of good time. As well, we’re running our two-headed giant prerelease on Sunday morning, where you and a partner team up to build 2 decks out of 12 packs before duking it out with other teams in best-of-one matches. You can register for all our Magic events, including this Friday’s draft and modern tournaments at https://www.labyrinthdc.com/magic-events/.

This week’s featured single is a Judge Promo Wasteland. Wasteland taps for a single colorless mana, but also allows you to sacrifice Wasteland to destroy a non-basic land. Very similar to the strictly better Strip Mine, Wasteland is a powerful tool in formats with already low land-counts or land-based decks. This makes Wasteland a staple of both Legacy and Vintage, where Strip Mine is restricted. You can find this copy at https://labyrinthgameshop.tcgplayerpro.com/.

That’s all for this week, partners. See you next Magic Monday!
