Magic Monday-February 5, 2024-Labyrinth's Latest Magic: The Gathering News

The upcoming RCQ, a learn-to-play Magic open house; and more!

It's just another Magic Monday!

Murders at Karlov Manor prerelease was so much fun! And the set officially releases this Friday, which means it's time for our traditional release day draft! You can secure your spot in our draft by checking out https://www.labyrinthdc.com/magic-events/.

The release of MKM also means the start of Standard season. We'll be hosting Standard Showdown tournaments on Friday the 16th and Friday the 23rd, as well as Wednesday the 28th. Players will receive special promos while supplies last including special full art omenpath lands, Lunar New Year promo versions of Dragonlord's Servant, and a Sarkhan Unbroken for the winner of the first Showdown on the 16th. And then on Sunday, the 25th, we'll be hosting a launch party for Ravnica: Clue Edition where you can take home special treatments of reprinted cards, as well as new cards exclusive to Ravnica: Clue Edition.

It may be a month away, but we already have two exciting events in March. First we have our Store Championship on March 3rd. The format is standard, and there’s a special prize for our champion: a pack of Magic 30th Anniversary Edition. These packs are valued between $200 and $300 online, so get your standard decks together.

The other exciting event in March is our Regional Championship Qualifier! The format will be Murders at Karlov Manor limited. Registration just went live on Friday, and we’re capping attendance at 30 people. So be sure to register for your spot early.

And finally, this week’s featured single is a serialized retro-framed Ivory Tower as printed in The Brothers’ War Retro-Frame Artifacts. Ivory Tower sees limited play in Commander, mostly in lifegain-focused decks. But serialized cards are exceedingly collectible; only 500 copies of any serialized card exist in the whole world. This copy can be found at https://labyrinthgameshop.tcgplayerpro.com/.

That’s all for this week.

See you next Magic Monday!
