Magic Monday-March 18, 2024-Labyrinth's Latest Magic: The Gathering News

The upcoming Regional Championship Qualifier and competitive Pauper Commander!

It’s just another Magic Monday!

The Regional Championship Qualifier is this Sunday! There are still a few spots left, so don’t hesitate to sign up now at https://www.labyrinthdc.com/magic-events/ !

Speaking of the RCQ, this week’s featured single is the prize for finishing first or second in our RCQ: a foil copy of Expressive Iteration. Expressive Iteration is a staple of Modern, particularly in Murktide Regent decks, but also appears often in Commander and other formats. While you have to finish on top of the field in our RCQ to win this particular card, you can find all of our singles at https://labyrinthgameshop.tcgplayerpro.com/ .

As a reminder, the RCQ will played under Competitive Rules Enforcement. For a primer on Competitive Rules Enforcement play, check out https://outsidetheasylum.blog/competitive-rel-tournament.../ for some good information about what to expect and how to prepare. One note I cannot stress enough, though, is that you should bring or buy fresh sleeves to use. Used sleeves will have scratches and wear patterns that could be considered as “Marked” and can result in penalties.

Outside of the RCQ, we have both a Murders at Karlov Manor Draft on Friday as well as a Pauper Tournament! Pauper, in particular, is in an interesting place in the meta game with a wide variety of decks and styles of gameplay. We hope to see you there.

And finally on Saturday, March 30th we’ll be hosting our second ever competitive Pauper Commander event. While this won’t be a Comp REL event, there will be stakes as the winner of each pod will receive $20 in store credit. You can sign up for it and all our Magic events at https://www.labyrinthdc.com/magic-events/.

That’s all for this week!

See you next Magic Monday!
