Upcoming events, a summer schedule update, and a featured single!
It’s just another Magic Monday! Kupo, everyone! It’s actually just another Moogle Monday!
Final Fantasy is fully here, and Chocobo Racing is underway! Players are earning points by playing and winning matches in our drafts in the hopes of taking home a foil Chocobo Print or possibly even a Chocobo Augmented Reality Pin! We’re hosting another one this Friday so head to https://labyrinthdc.com/magic-events and sign up today!
This Friday also marks the return of Modern after a two-week hiatus. Has Final Fantasy shaken up the meta? Come by on Friday to find out, win some store credit, and possibly receive a random Tarkir: Dragonstorm Promo pack.
In just a couple of weeks, we’re hosting Magic Presents: Pride on June 29th. This will be a casual Commander event where you’re allowed to bring a deck with any two commanders of your choice. That’s because every commander has Partner! You can come up with all sorts of new and exciting synergies and play them at the event. And when you do, you’ll receive a unique Chromatic Lantern promo card!
We’re doing a couple of special things for the first week of July. Firstly, on July 4th we’ll be hosting Friday “Noon” Magic. Because of the holiday we’re starting at noon and running FNM until 4:00pm that day. Additionally, Friday “Noon” Magic will feature a Standard Showdown because the next day, July 5th, is our Final Fantasy Store Championship! The format is Standard, and registration is already open!
One note as summer is upon us: Summer Camps start this week, and we’re hosting Aftercare Camps all summer long. That means that our play space will not be available before 6:00pm all summer long; camp parents don’t appreciate strangers hanging around their little ones. As such, you should plan to arrive at or after 6:00pm for FNM or Casual Commander all summer long (except for July 4th).
This week’s featured single is Mana Confluence. Originally printed in Journey in to Nyx, this card sees play in Commander and Pioneer. Mana Confluence that allows you to tap it, pay one life, and then add one mana of any color. And that’s it. Perfect for greedy mana-bases, this copy is collectible because it is a foil copy of the Zendikar Expedition version of the card. Zendikar Expeditions was an early experiment with special bonus sheets and appeared in Battle for Zendikar block draft boosters. They were exceedingly rare, but you can find this card at https://labyrinthgameshop.tcgplayerpro.com/ alongside our other Magic singles.
That’s all for this week! See you next Magic Monday!
