A Pokémon Player ID is essential for participating in official Play! Pokémon events like League Challenges, League Cups, and Prereleases, and for tracking your Championship Points. It's linked to your Pokémon Trainer Club account.
Here's how to sign up for a Pokémon Player ID:
Create a Pokémon Trainer Club Account:
- Go to https://join.pokemon.com/
- Follow the prompts to create an account, providing your date of birth, country, email, and creating a username and password.
- Verify your email address when prompted.
- Important: If you are registering a child under 13, a parent/guardian will need to create their own account first and then add the child's account under their profile for proper parental controls.
- Once you create your adult account, click the "Add a Child" button on the left side of your profile page.
- Complete the prompts to create your child's account, providing their date of birth, country, and creating a username and password.
Generate Your Player ID:
- Log in to your Pokémon Trainer Club account on Pokemon.com.
- From the menu on the left-hand side, click on "Play! Pokémon Settings."
- In the "Play! Pokémon Account" section, select "Please assign me a new Player ID number."
- Review and accept the Play! Pokémon Terms of Use, then click "Submit."
- You may also be asked to select whether you want to participate in Play! Pokémon Programs. Selecting "Yes!" is usually required to generate the ID and track points.
- Your unique Player ID will then be displayed, and you can use it to register for official events!
