Final Fantasy is almost here! Plus a Chaos Draft, weekly winners and a featured single!

It’s just another Magic Monday!

We’re just a little over a week away from the prerelease for Final Fantasy and the excitement is palpable!

Tarkir: Dragonstorm has been so popular that we’ve run out of packs and need to call an audible on this week’s draft! Instead of a final TDM draft, we’ll be running a Chaos draft, featuring the last of our Tarkir packs and other recent standard sets! It’s always a fun challenge to find cross-set synergies during a Chaos draft, so we hope you’ll join us Friday!

This Friday is also the last Modern FNM before a two-week hiatus for Final Fantasy limited. Modern will return on June 20th, but will it be the same metagame? Come out Friday to give your deck a spin before any cards from the new set alter the format.

As a reminder, this is the last week where Casual Commander will cost $5. Starting June 3rd, the price rises to $10. This change is necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of the event in the face of rising costs. We thank you for all your support, and hope to see you in June and afterwards.

This week’s featured single is Archaeon the Everchosen, better known as Najeela, the Blade-Blossom. This card is from the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Secret Lair, which features several Magic cards reskinned and renamed to fit into the Warhammer universe. Najeela is a potent commander that can make extra warriors when it or another warrior attacks. But what’s special is its activated ability. For the full WUBRG, you can untap your creatures, give them trample, lifelink, and haste, then start an additional combat. Extra combat steps are potent in commander, where this card is most at home.
